So as to support the constant growth of tourism in the country, Thai government (through its Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand) announced some plans to open new routes from and to Trat airport with other main airports : U-Tapao, Chiang Mai, Udonthani, Phuket, etc. and to facilitate transfers to neighbour countries – so as to promote the city and near-by tourism main spots : Koh Chang and Koh Kut.
This news, among many other ones, contribute to the big countrywide plan to extend the Eastern Economic Corridor area to Chanthaburi and Trat provinces – as we stated in a previous article.
